DAILY MISHNAH STUDY
Rabbi Garth Silberstein
Join us after shacharit (approx. 7:30am) on weekdays as we study mishnah over a light breakfast. Learning 2-3 mishnayot each day, over time we will cover a wide range of important topics in Jewish law and thought, and with God’s Help we will eventually learn the entire Mishnah together. No Hebrew knowledge required.
Monday and Thursday following Shacharit at KI. On hiatus August 3-24.

PRACTICAL HALACHA
Rabbi Mendy Cohen
Torah learning is not just an intellectual adventure. Ultimately, it should motivate and guide our actions to be in harmony with the Divine will. Rabbi Mendy Cohen, who recently received the special ordination authorizing adjudication in courts of Jewish law, will lead us in learning selected topics in practical halacha.

NJOP HEBREW READING CRASH COURSE Aleph Bet
The NJOP Hebrew Reading Crash Course is back by popular demand, taught by our own Yael Rosenberg.In just five classes, you can learn to read Hebrew! Classes will take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 PM. The first three classes will take place on August 2, 9, and 16. The dates for the last two classes are TBA.

PARSHAT HASHAVUA

Each week we will seek to uncover the meaning of the weekly Torah portion, using a close read of the text, as well as the insights from ancient, medieval and modern commentators.

Join Rabbi Silberstein under the trees on the KI lawn at 7:00 PM Shabbat afternoon for “Ethics in Eden,” an opportunity to study Pirkei Avot, one of the most beautiful and inspiring tractates of the Mishnah. This will be followed by Seudah Shelishit at 8:00 PM. On hiatus August 3-24.

FOUNDATIONS OF JUDAISM

In this weekly course, students will gain familiarity with the practices, values and ideas that shape a Jewish life.
